Adoption Package and Fees
The adoption package for a dog or a cat includes:
- Vet exam
- Microchip & inclusion in national registry
- Personalized ID tag
- Certificate for the spay or neuter surgery*
- First vaccinations & de-worming
- One month pre-paid pet health insurance
- $10 discount on dog obedience classes
- Temporary collar
- Temporary leash for dogs or a carrier for cats
- Buy-one/get-one-free special on Science Diet pet food at Davenport’s Den
Adoption Fees
- Puppies: starting at $110 (rare shelter breeds up to $310)
- Dogs: starting at $90 (rare shelter breeds up to $310)
- Senior Dogs: starting at $55
- Kittens: starting at $85
- Cats: starting at $70**
- Senior Cats: starting at $35
- Rabbit: $35
- Bird: starting at $10
- Small Animals: starting at $5
WHS does not accept checks for adoptions or merchandise. We do accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and debit cards.
*Download the list of area veterinarians who accept the spay/neuter certificate as full or partial payment.
**Senior Citizens (age 55 or older) may adopt any adult cat (1 year or older) for $35.
