Spay/Neuter Assistance

Spaying and Neutering Helps Prevent Pet Overpopulation

Cats and dogs have the unique ability to reproduce several times a year. They can go into heat as early as 5 months of age - sometimes earlier, and they can have litters several times a year. That is why there is an endless cycle of homeless animals.

You can help stop pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering your pet.

Save the Felines Program

For residents of Marion and Polk County needing assistance with the cost of the surgery, Willamette Humane Society offers Save the Felines certificates for cats. Certificates cost $25 and serve as full payment atparticipating veterinary clinics for the following services:

  • pre-surgery vaccination (combo or rabies)
  • health exam
  • spay or neuter surgery
  • post surgery pain injection (if offered)

Please note: Additional charges may apply if the cat is in heat or pregnant. The veterinarian has the right to refuse to perform the surgery if the animal is too young, ill or injured. You must be the owner of the cat and intend to keep the cat as your own pet. A maximum of three certificates can be purchased for $25 each.
